1. unscrew and remove the old seat 
2. Install mounting bases (included) on the toilet, not the seat. (Don’t tighten completely yet though.)

This heavy duty commercial grade toilet seat is the same kind of Bemis seat that originally came with a Kohler toilet fixture I purchased 15 years ago.

Why purchase a lesser grade residential seat seat for a similar price?

The finish is brilliant white with a lustrous finish & has the antimicrobial feature in the plastic, which the original did not have.

Per Bemis cleaning instructions, I intend to only use a mild (dish) detergent to wash the seat.

The toilet fixture itself perhaps could be cleaned differently.

I had intended to purchase a Kohler seat but was concerned by the degree of negative reviews.

First let me say I have 4 toilets. They all had the Bemis easy clean toilet seats for four years. They worked fine, but they stained easily. I tried a steam cleaner, windex, etc. I could not get them clean. Also, the screws under the seat started to rust. I replaced all the seats with the Bemis 7800TDG000. They do cost 3 times as much and they are not easily removed. However, they are easy to clean, comfortable, and have stainless hardware in the hinges. They also have 4 bumpers underneath the seat and are very sturdy. They do not wiggle. I’m very pleased. Well made product!
